Directed and produced by Kareem Edouard, narrated by the legandary Chuck D the short documentary gives you as real an understanding of where the diamonds that adorn arms, fingers, necks, teeth and wrists really come from and it certainly doesnt resemble 47th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. The main topic of the documentary is conflict diamonds, those diamonds that 'originate in areas that are controlled by factions opposed to legitimate and recognized governments.' The documentary shows in graphic detail the 'real' diamond district and it's people being killed, having limbs amputated by the rebel force of the RUF, Revolutionary United Front, which has maintained control of the country and has dominated the diamond fields since 1991. They have killed an estimated 50,000 - 75,000 people during their attack on civilization and securing control of the most diamond rich country (Sierra Leone) in the word. The United Nations etsimated that international diamond trading centers purchased $125 million dollars worth of diamonds from the RUF each year, which allows them to purchase weapons to maintain control over the dwindling population. 'Bling: Consequences and Repercussions' makes you sit and up and think. Hip-hop is dominated by diamonds, consumed by them, everyone trying to bling more than the next person. As the documentary comes to an end the closing comment from a young white kid is "Most rappers are black and they should be supporting those Africans that are being hurt because of diamonds." Cuz today was hot. Yup, a hot December day. >_< There was pizza, candy, cookies, cupcakes. Which means I should have been sugar high and hyper and crazier than usual. Anyway, it was fun. Lots of sugary food, while "Mickey's Christmas Sing Alongs" played. The guys, being themselves, sang along to "Rudoplh the Red Nosed Reindeer" and "Let It Snow"...off beat, off tune, yeah. Nonetheless it made me laugh because it was stupid-silly-funny. I got a Star Wars poster, lots of candy, hot cheetos, and a cute clear icy-like snowman ornament with its scarf...so cute. I appreciate it all really. Jessica got from her Secret Santa aka her ex boyfriend aka the rich guy with the big forehead...a $75-$85gift. $45 worth of two gift cards for Borders (*wants*) a really cuddly, soft teddy bear, and that Godiva aka expensive chocolate. This is proof that he still loves her. LOVES her. Either that or obsession. Overall, it was a pretty okay Christmas party, despite me avoiding Zach all day. Okay. We had our our Student Council Christmas party yesterday. It didn't even last an entire hour, but whatever. My Secret Santa, Weston, got me a $30 video game. Which I am very thankful for nonetheless. ^_^ We had pizza, 7-8 sparkling ciders, coke, and cookies. The pizza was really good, but the slices were skinny. Zach had seven slices. I though that was a lot, but Jaime said "That's nothing!". Zach's skinny, but Jaime's...um, more on the round-ish side. Ciara and Claudia got high on five Dr. Peppers (they shared. Thankfully) and finished one and a half bottles of sparkling cider. Then our teacher told them that Dr Pepper is actually mostly made of prune juice. Yuck. And both of them had to go to basketball practice after the party, which is kind of stupid. They were both high, laughing at something funny---that ended five minutes ago. Their (strict) coach got mad at them during practice because Ciara literally ate the ground: she fell and she has some big scratches and bruises. But she was laughing so hard. Edit: That helped the first time the page loaded, for the index page.. All the other pages linked inside the iframe will make the border pop up.. So i tried opening nyheter.html, and put the same script in there.. The same thing happens, the first time the page is loaded the borders is not there, but if you hit refresh, they reappear.. Maybe i am doing something wrong? This happens in IE, not firefox.. Today it has improved 200% But just a note.. When i added Frameborder="0" to the Iframe, the frameborder would actually show up in Firefox, but not in IE.. If i removed it, and used <body style="margin:0px;border:0px;"> The content of the page here </body> in every page that showed up in the iframe it worked in both Firefox and IE.
