In my opinion, some of the best moments of the show happen in those first ten or so minutes, and it's much more freeform and less rigid than the rest of the show's schedule. So I'd like to hear from someone in the know: Did they just not have time for it today (unlikely, but I'd love to believe it's true) or is it really gone for good? I think it's generally accepted that Attack of the Interview (or whatever it was called) was by far the worst and most boring of the clip shows. I mean, every once in a while a guest is interesting or did something worth noticing on the internet, but it seems like about 75% of the time, it's someone bouncing from show to show to promote their newest crap, be it a book or a new show on G4. I think I gagged when they made Sarah read that "Coming up on Star Trek" thing at the end of today's episode. For anyone keeping track: no new co-host, live only on East Coast, no more real Friday shows, Feed moved, and Top of the Show removed. I wonder what'll be left in about six months; a prerecorded 60-minute interview of a Star Trek producer every Wednesday? I'm obviously exaggerating, but I digress. Reply Quote Top Bottom skauff83 Level 4 Posts: 764 Joined: Jun 2005 Monday January 09, 2006 10:32 PM The "Cool Stuff" segment used to be one of the most enjoyable segments on the show, when they showed cool links and internet news of the day (this was back in the days where link dumps were plentiful on attack of the blog). This sort of thing actually grabbed my attention and made me want to tell my friends about what I saw on AOTS. Ever since they changed it over to using the part of the show as a platform to show mostly mediocre skits, or talk about things that aren't really that fascinating and I don't really care about, like some new movie trailor or whatever. Most interviews are annoyingly generic, with nothing really interesting that goes on in them (the suitcase thing with the one red paper clip guy was just stupid), and most of the segments that the show's come to be known for are getting killed off or just not being used to the extent that they once were. NBC Universal’s decided to push the TRIO network off the cable air and go 100% broadban Internet, as of January 1, 2006. If NBC does not promote it any better than the cable network, it will probably end up on the junk heap of content driven web destinations --- lots of good content without lots of good viewers. It is a pop culture favorite, at least with the creative community ---but still it became of victim of its own cool-ness, plus leaving Direct TV was a major hurt on ratings. So, its going off television to a 100% broadband internet channel. Trio Cancelled You will be able to find it at the Bravo network web site New Web Home Trio's biggest success was, ironically, a show called "Brilliant, But Cancelled," which showcased repeats of series shows that had passionate-but-small audiences. Using the slogan on its website ---- "Pop. Culture. TV " the network tried to find a niche but could not get the big ratings ……………we will see in 2006 whether the web audience will catch on……….
