The rigor of finding time to "relax" while living the fast paced lifestyle in the respective small towns these 5 gentlemen grew up in, brought said gentlemen together over the years(having crossed paths at many a corner show & such). After several previous musical endeavors, some swell and some better, the decision was made to form a new band- with hopes of besting all previous collective attempts. The band staked its ground with a year full of live shows that soon garnered critical acclaim, including "Best New Band of the Twin Cities" as hailed by the Citypages. Belles of Skin City released their debut EP- Ha Ha Boardroom Think Tank Tantrums on Totally Gross National Product records in the fall of 2005. Being accused of having a "Sousa meets swap meet" style, The Belles have begun recording a follow up full length album, yet to be named and slotted for a spring 2005 release. These fellas have plans of actually leaving Minnesota for a minute or two, to tour in support of the new release. For this Bio to be taken any other way would be completely expected. The Belles of Skin City are known for promising Thanksgiving dinner and providing an Easter ham. The Belles of Skin City's Friend Space The Belles of Skin City has 300 friends. He is still a jerk, at least during a reported bar fight last week -- brawling in a hotel bar with whiskey shots, etc… Stapp Brawl in Bar What Scott Stapp needs to prove after selling 30 million records with his band “Creed”, no one really knows. He was the ego-maniac, the frontman, the songwriter and now says it was “his sound” that made the band – plus, he says, he has “secret” Creed guitar tunings for his new back-up band. "The Great Divide," Stapp’s first solo effort after a hiatus in Hawaii, sold a barely respectable 92,000 copies last week according to SoundScan. “Creed's sound is my sound," Stapp insists, lounging on a sofa backstage before an appearance on "The Tonight Show." "I think my record is going to speak for itself to the Creed fans. I think it's going to be like when Sting left The Police." Will Fans Return? When “Creed” broke-up, they were sued by fans…. Maybe the Grateful Dead should promote music for MySpace --- free, of course, and they probably would sell a lot of merchandise from their site and continue the "good will" they have pushed for many decades, successfully, as a non-sellout, good ole hippie band........…………yes, the band changed their mind about banning downloading --- they won’t stop authorizing free downloads of old concerts Dead Backtracks on Free Downloads In fact, lead band leader Phil Lesh went out of his way on his website to make the proclamation Phil Lesh Speaks Deadheads who are cruising around in their Cadillacs can still go to the Dead store for goodies……… Official Store The entertainment culture embraces the Dead because they are winners by embracing the common man--- if there is a backlash, they change course immediately. Metallica might have saved some fan-base when they took their hard-line public stand against Napster and downloading ---in this case, the band saved good will among web fans immediately. Here is the announcement back in May from the Dead regarding downloads First Dead Download Edict So the Dead is really behind the “home-made fan recordings” as they have always been -–concerts used to have a special section for tape-recording fans – but this past week’s outcry on the web illustrates the difficulty of reversing a long-held policy when so many fans already have the Mp3 files on their computers.
