This was James (FutureQ's) fault. He brought this idea. Basically it's just for people that can and wish to contribute more. I am simply out of ideas as to what to offer the higher levels. As James puts it. I offer so much as it is. So, yeah.. for now, it's just a symbol of how much people love the site and wish to keep it going by contributing more. In the future.. maybe they will have some unforseen benefit. You Are Here MyGen.co.uk Tutorials Customizefriends Sponsored Links Customize Your Friends This tutorial will customize your friends list, basically meaning you can put any 8 friends you want on your profile instead of the 8 that are randomly chosen by MySpace. Note: This code is VERY advanced, and should not be attempted by beginners! Thanks go to John ( Sihkness ) for inspiring this tutorial Before we start, below is how this modification will appear on your profile: XXXX Friend Space XXXX has XXXX friends. Rob Rob Rob Rob Rob Rob Rob Rob View All of XXXX's Friends Lots of pictures of me, as you can see! But before we get to this stage, we have to find out a few pieces of information! Firstly, go to your 'Home' page, and click on the 'View All of my Friends' link. This will show all the friends you currently have, now we need to find out 2 things for each friend: 1. The URL to their thumbnail image. 2. The URL to their profile page. First the thumbnail URL: From your friends page, chose a friend you want on your customized friends list, and right-click on their image and left click on 'Properties', Make a note of the 'Location' (Firefox) or the 'Address (URL)' (Internet Explorer), it is easiest to copy & paste these into notepad for reference later on. Repeat for the 8 friends you want on your friends list. Now you need to get the URL for each of their profiles. Now, for the same 8 friends, right-click on their picture and left-click 'Copy Link Location' (Firefox) or 'Copy Shortcut' (Internet Explorer). Again, make a note of these URLs, but make sure you match them up the 8 image locations you gathered in the first step. You should now have 8 image locations, and 8 matching profile URLs. Now you are ready to start customizing! From your 'Home' page, click on ' Safe Mode ' this will be where you do all your editing! Below is all the code for this modification, however, there is a lot of editing to do to it before it is ready to go on your profile! Various sections of the code have been colour-coded. Below is a key to what you need to do with each coloured section. Red: Your Name Yellow: Number of friends you want to say you have Light Blue: Your Friend's name Green: URL of friend's thumbnail image Blue: URL to friend's profile page Orange: Friend's 'friendid' (These are the numbers at the end of the URL to your friend's profile page, e.g. 467392) Purple: Link to YOUR friends page (You can find this out by right-clicking on the 'View All My Friends' link on your homepage, then choosing 'Properties'.
