So we decided to give you MySpace IM - Instant Messenger for Xmas. It went live a few hours ago, so there's bound to be a few bugs and might take awhile to getit running smooth. Here's how it works: First go to Home/Account Settings and check your IM privacy settings. You'll be able to set it so a) no one can IM you, b) only friendscan IM you, or c) so anyone can IM you. NOTE: if you have "hide online now" set to on in the regular privacy settings (also on the account settings page), then no one can IM you. When you want to IM someone, go to their profile and click "Instant Message". A window will pop up telling you if they are not available. If they are, you'll see the IM chat window. It starts with "Connecting..." This should only take a few seconds before the conversation can begin.Start typing. When done IMing someone, close your window, you can only have one IM window/conversationgoing at once. Also note the new "blocking" feature. Sorry for not keeping you up to date. Lots of efforthas gone into keeping the site running fast. We had some problems yesterday, mostly last night. The speed problems are still intermittent and we are working on it right now. Everyday I get emails from people telling me how MySpace has become part of their daily life.
