I want in on this internet thingy! ". And now the ubermogul and possible inspirer of Bond villains looks like he's getting back into the dotcom race: NewsCorp has just splashed out $580m on Intermix, the owner of the incredibly popular Myspace.com. For those not in the know, Internetnews says Myspace is: a social networking site which is the fifth-ranked Web domain in terms of page views, according to comScore Media Metrix. MySpace integrates profiles, blogs, instant messaging, e-mail, music downloads, photo galleries, classified listings, events, groups, chat rooms and user forums. We reported on the rise of Myspace earlier this year , saying it was "trendier than Friendster" - but in truth, hardcore webheads have actually been fairly sniffy of Myspace's success. Fair enough, it's not pretty, and Intermix portfolio is rather ragged: greetings cards, quizzes, music downloads. But where Murdoch sniffs profit, he usually finds it. Murdoch's quoted in The Guardian's own report : "We see a great opportunity to combine the popularity of Intermix's sites, particularly MySpace, with our existing online assets to provide a richer experience for today's internet users." The question is, richer for who, Rupert? Comments If you are on Myspace come and join this group. http://groups.myspace.com/murdochfoxmyspace Posted by sabotage on July 19, 2005 11:06 AM. Offensive? To change the background on myspace you need to add Code: <style> body { background: black; } </style> The above example sets the background to black. Obviously if you did that you'd want the text to be white (or a light colour) so you would add Code: <style> body { background: black; color: white; } </style> This only changes the background colour of the page. Your myspace profile is built up using tables. This is the point I recommend you read the myspace forum topics on profile design because the structure is quite involved. For example there are 4 nested tables used to display the about me section so you would have to add Code: <style> table table table table { background: black; } </style> to make the background of the about me section black. More annoying is the fact that they allow CSS but then don't give any of the tables ID names or Classes. _________________ Visit http://www.easywebpagedesign.com for tutorials and scripts fenderstreet Joined: 06 Nov 2005 Posts: 3 Posted: Tue Nov 08, 2005 7:51 pm Thanks so much! Myspace Graphics Home myspace.com Myspace Graphics Myspace Graphics to spice up your site Myspace Graphics [ Myspace Graphics With Glitter ] [ More Myspace Glitter Graphics ] [ Even More Glitter Graphics ] [ Christmas Graphics ] [ Help with Myspace HTML Codes ] [ Custom Layouts ] One of the first things people do after starting a Myspace account is to search the web for ' Myspace Graphics ', ' Myspace animations ', ' Myspace Graphics Codes ' or something of the sort, in an effort to pimp out their site. One of the first issues most run into is that Myspace graphics can not be hosted at myspace. The graphic or picture must be located somewhere else on the internet and you must be able to hotlink to it (that is, simply enter the address of the picture on someone elses server). One place to find 'hotlinkable' background graphics for Myspace is Anime Cutie's hotlinkable Myspace backgrounds . If you find a photo or a graphic that you like, but the author does not explicitly permit you to hotlink, then simply right click on the picture, select 'save as', or 'save image as', and save it to your own computer. Browse to one of the many image sites on the internet that will allow you to create a free account, and upload a few images such as imgspot.com, photobucket.com or snapfish.com Myspace Graphics and Animations Here are few graphics to get you started! Just select one of the links above and to the right of the glittering pony, and you will be able to select from many Myspace Graphics . Business Web Design by Mojave Creations. Help - Search - Member List - Calendar Full Version: Become an official designer! createBlog.com > News and Announcements > Announcements micron Jan 17 2005, 9:50 PM Become cB's official designer! It's fun, it's easy, and it's sexy ! All those with at least 7 unique skins (14 for myspace skins*) approved in the cB skin database are eligible! Unique meaning they aren't variations of the same skin. Variations count as one skin. No other requirements, not even minimum posts! Official designers get to strut around cB in the "Official Designer" member group, which is shown in the miniprofile of each post. It's cB's way of saying thank you - for contributing and making this community the best one out there! Official designers recieve the same privileges as official members. To become one, once you have 7 unique skins* approved, reply here and list the skins that have been approved. New members will be added on a weekly basis. *note: since myspace skins take much less time to make (only css edits), they count as 1/2 of the total skins count. micron Jan 17 2005, 10:37 PM No comments please, just applicants! Also, you can only be in one member group. That means if you are already in an other member group, ie Official Member, you'll have to give up one or the other. __________________________ QUOTE([2) Nekked,Jan 21 2005, 7:04 PM]do the skins still go through the queue? or does it go passed it? if so, is the topic title going to automatically change? (skin###) no. skins submitted by official designers are automatically accepted. so it is the responsibility of the official designer to name and format the skin accordingly. by the time someone has 7 skins accepted, they should pretty much be familiar with the format, so i dont forsee any potential problems. and even if a couple slip by that arent properly formated, theres always our talented staff members to fix them. __________________________ QUOTE(angel_roh @ Jan 22 2005, 5:52 AM) btw... does that mean that i have to submit skins like everyday? no, this is just cB's way of saying thank you for a job well done. micron Mar 24 2005, 10:28 PM last update: 03.24 forgot to mention this, the staff team reserves the right to remove any skin thats been accepted. not that theyre going to, they just have the right to. also, official designers are asked not to resubmit skins that were previously rejected before they became one. Just_Dream Oct 14 2005, 9:41 PM ^ It means that your layout doesn't go to the queue.. meaning that any member can view it. If a moderator believes that it is not fitting, then a moderator CAN delete it. It is fair because just by being official designer, it proves that you are the best of the best. BUT, if a skin is rejected, it's okay! Remember that in the long run it will help you. If the skin is rejected, one can always make it better. So, don't take it too personally. :] insomniac Dec 24 2005, 11:44 AM i do have 7 skins (counting the myspace skins as half a skin). im an official member though, so id only like to be an official member if it meant that my layouts wouldnt have to wait in the queue anymore.. http://www.createblog.com/skins/index.php?author_id=79019 edit// my livejournal/website ones have the same images, but had to be coded very differently, so i think they should be counted as separate, "unique" skins. tcunningham1589 Jan 5 2006, 7:53 PM QUOTE(insomniac @ Dec 24 2005, 12:44 PM) i do have 7 skins (counting the myspace skins as half a skin). im an official member though, so id only like to be an official member if it meant that my layouts wouldnt have to wait in the queue anymore.. http://www.createblog.com/skins/index.php?author_id=79019 edit// my livejournal/website ones have the same images, but had to be coded very differently, so i think they should be counted as separate, "unique" skins. With the "new" skinning system, official designers can't bypass queue. insomniac Jan 9 2006, 10:03 PM ah. then its not worth it. i was just tired of the wait, especially with website layouts. i hope that changes soon. ill stick with my official member status then. mona lisa Jan 10 2006, 9:37 AM You get the same benefits as an Official Designer as you do for Official Member... And the "wait" really just depends on how fast the moderators can get through the queue. It takes longer if the server is down. As well, there are literally tons of layouts that aren't actual layouts and it would be much faster if people didn't submit layouts with a link rather than codes or if some actually followed the guidelines. There's nothing against website layouts that makes you think they get accepted last or something. The layouts that are submitted first are accepted/rejected first. It's only left there if someone is unsure about it and leaves it to another moderator to choose. It's just that in the recent times, we've been having problems with the server or the uploader. I don't know what you're complaining about... insomniac Jan 10 2006, 11:33 AM im not complaining! ive just noticed that because only a few mods can approve website layouts, they take a lot more time to be accepted compared to xanga layouts. no complaints. mona lisa Jan 10 2006, 8:54 PM :) Well then, okay. Yeah, it's just Design and Head Staff and admins. Although... any mod (except People) can accept them. Anyway, I'll try to get into the queue more often. I'm getting better about remembering to go through the layouts. Really. I just don't want anyone to become discouraged because there isn't a reason to become discouraged.
