Content Generator Thomas' Image Help V1 (reborn, mix2, BETA) Welcome to Thomas' Image Help! Here I'll help you add images to websites, forums, profiles and other pages on the net. Much thanks to ImageShack for hosting the images! They're great. Please Donate to ImageShack to keep this valuable resource alive! This is a BETA version. It's V1 [July sixteenth, 2005:197:15:01:30] Upload your pictures If you would like to upload your own photos, please start here. Just hit "browse", find the picture you want to upload, then click "upload". A window will pop up with several codes, we'll call that the "Code Page". I'll explain how to use those codes below. Backgrounds If you're planning on using the image as a background in Thomas' Myspace Editor, Copy (ctrl-c) The "DIRECT link to image" from the code page, and paste (ctrl-v) that code into the "background image URL" section of Thomas' Myspace Editor. Thumbnails If you want to show a regular image in a page, not as a background, try the "Thumbnails for websites" code. It will make a thumbnail of the picture that people can click on to see the full image. The thumbnail is a good size, so it won't take up the whole page. People can rate the picture too, after they see the full size version. Note that the "Thumbnails for websites" code will only work in places that allow HTML, like Myspace and many other profile sites. Some forums don't allow HTML, but do accept a special code for posting pictures. If you're posting on such a forum, try using one of the "Forum" codes. The picture will show up in the same place that the code is pasted. Sharing If you just want to show the picture to friends over email or Instant Message, I suggest using the "Show image to friends" code. From there, people will be able to see the full picture, download it and even rate it. In codes In almost all image-related codes, you'll need to use the URL (aka address, src or link) of the image in the code. If you want to use your image in a code like that, you definately need to use the "DIRECT link to image" code. Happy? Many people have trouble posting images. If you WERE one of those people, but not anymore, I'm glad to have helped! Please help me to help other people! Timing July 26, 2005 95% of the time, the calls I take from Clients are pleasant and witout issue. But it's the other 5% that's going to kill me. Like today, for instance. I still don't get people who wait until the 11th hour to make arrangements for things. Here we are the 26th of July and I just took a call for the 27th of August. THE 27TH OF AUGUST! And it's a wedding - not some imromptu business function or family gathering. This is a wedding that's been in the planning since February. FEBRUARY. But they just thought, "It would be no problem since it's an entire month away..." Now, when you're waiting for a vacation or for your birthday or something like the Semi-Annual sale at Nordsrtom, you can say things like, "It's an ENTIRE month until I finally get to go on vacation!" or "I have an ENTIRE month to wait until I can get those Cole Haan boots I've had my eyes on." But when it's something like sceduling a caterer - the person who's going to actually make your reception fabulous, you are only entitled to say, "It's ONLY a month away. I need to get my shit together!" Who does this? What kind of moron sits back and says, "Well, all we have left is to make sure we have food to eat..." COME ON! So of course I had to say, "No, I am sorry. We are booked " , and give the lady advice on where to turn, next. All the while she's just freaking out at the prospect that it might, in fact, be too damn late. What I wanted to say was, "Just get back on The Stupid Train, Lady. Because the next stop is Get A Clue Town!" And no - maturity is not my middle name.
