It's this Saturday, February 28th at The Key Club onSunset. It's $10 before 10:30 and $15 after 10:30! Jan. 29, 2003 Party Coming Up! It's been awhile, sorry. So the next LA MySpace party is going to be Feburuary28th, Saturday night at the KeyClub. There will also be a Miami Party on Feb 14th at ClubSpace. I'malso working on New York, Philadelphia, D.C. and Hawaii parties. All the details will be announcedsoon. So we decided to give you MySpace IM - Instant Messenger for Xmas. It went live a few hours ago, so there's bound to be a few bugs and might take awhile to getit running smooth. Here's how it works: First go to Home/Account Settings and check your IM privacy settings. You'll be able to set it so a) no one can IM you, b) only friendscan IM you, or c) so anyone can IM you. NOTE: if you have "hide online now" set to on in the regular privacy settings (also on the account settings page), then no one can IM you. When you want to IM someone, go to their profile and click "Instant Message". A window will pop up telling you if they are not available. If they are, you'll see the IM chat window. It starts with "Connecting..." This should only take a few seconds before the conversation can begin.Start typing. When done IMing someone, close your window, you can only have one IM window/conversationgoing at once. Also note the new "blocking" feature. If you choose to block someone, MySpace does NOT tell the other person they are blocked. But they won't be able to IM you or send you messages. E-mail me with comments/suggestions/bugs I'm here ! Sorry for not keeping you up to date. Lots of efforthas gone into keeping the site running fast. We had some problems yesterday, mostly last night. The speed problems are still intermittent and we are working on it right now. Everyday I get emails from people telling me how MySpace has become part of their daily life. So far people have wrote to me to say they'vemade new friends, found new band members, jobs, and even new relationships, all from the connections they made on MySpace. Oct. 10, 2003 Ooooh so many cool people here Hey Folks - The site was a little slow from 1:00pm--5:00pm today; we were installing a newimage server. WHY?? Seems you all like to upload lots of pics and we ran out of space! The last two weeks we've been optimizing the code, fixing tiny bugs, and adding new features. Most of the big things are still being developed, but here's what's new: Leave comments on pictures (OMG!) Hide your online status Block friend requests from people you don't know Approve comments before they're posted These last three options you can change on the Home/Account Settings/Privacy page. Please note we added an extensive FAQ to answer your questions. Also, glad to see how creative people are with HTML in their profiles.For help with designing your profile, go here . (Thanks Joe!) Content Generator Thomas' Image Help V1 (reborn, mix2, BETA) Welcome to Thomas' Image Help! Here I'll help you add images to websites, forums, profiles and other pages on the net. Much thanks to ImageShack for hosting the images! They're great. Please Donate to ImageShack to keep this valuable resource alive! This is a BETA version. It's V1 [July sixteenth, 2005:197:15:01:30] Upload your pictures If you would like to upload your own photos, please start here. Just hit "browse", find the picture you want to upload, then click "upload". A window will pop up with several codes, we'll call that the "Code Page". I'll explain how to use those codes below. Backgrounds If you're planning on using the image as a background in Thomas' Myspace Editor, Copy (ctrl-c) The "DIRECT link to image" from the code page, and paste (ctrl-v) that code into the "background image URL" section of Thomas' Myspace Editor. Thumbnails If you want to show a regular image in a page, not as a background, try the "Thumbnails for websites" code. It will make a thumbnail of the picture that people can click on to see the full image. The thumbnail is a good size, so it won't take up the whole page. People can rate the picture too, after they see the full size version. Note that the "Thumbnails for websites" code will only work in places that allow HTML, like Myspace and many other profile sites. Some forums don't allow HTML, but do accept a special code for posting pictures. If you're posting on such a forum, try using one of the "Forum" codes. The picture will show up in the same place that the code is pasted. Sharing If you just want to show the picture to friends over email or Instant Message, I suggest using the "Show image to friends" code. From there, people will be able to see the full picture, download it and even rate it. In codes In almost all image-related codes, you'll need to use the URL (aka address, src or link) of the image in the code. If you want to use your image in a code like that, you definately need to use the "DIRECT link to image" code. Happy? Many people have trouble posting images. If you WERE one of those people, but not anymore, I'm glad to have helped! Please help me to help other people!
